U I Cheats in The Sims 4: what the mod is and what it changes
"U I Cheats" is UI Cheats Extension, a free mod by weerbesu that sets needs, money, skills, careers, relationships and time by clicking The Sims 4's own panels instead of typing console commands. It runs on PC and Mac only, and it does not need testingcheats.
What it changes, panel by panel
The mod adds click handling to panels that already exist in the game. Left-click sets a value where you clicked; right-click opens a box where you type or pick one.
| Panel | Left-click does | Right-click does |
|---|---|---|
| Needs bar | Sets that need to the point you clicked | Type an exact value from -100 to 100 |
| Needs panel icon | Nothing | Fills every need for the selected Sim |
| Money counter | Adds 1,000 Simoleons | Set household funds exactly, including Galactic Credits, bits and pieces |
| Skills panel | Nothing | Pick a level on any skill bar; the panel icon adds skills that are not listed yet |
| Career panel | Nothing | Promote, demote, switch branch, pick a level, or complete a daily or promotion task |
| Relationships panel | Nothing | Set friendship or romance from -100 to 100, or delete the relationship |
| Simology, age bar | Nothing | Add or subtract days at the current age stage, or total days lived |
| Simology, Traits bar | Nothing | Add traits from the green title bar; right-click a trait to remove it |
| Simology, character values | Nothing | Set a value meter from -100 to 100; set Fame, Reputation or Influence |
| Clock and weather icons | Nothing | Set the hour from 0 to 23, or the season, weather or lunar phase |
| Moodlets and wants | Nothing | Remove a moodlet; complete or re-roll a want |
| Aspirations panel | Nothing | Fulfil a goal, or pick a Soul's Journey rank |
| Sim profile | Nothing | Add sentiments or relationship bits, set Attraction and Romantic Satisfaction |
| Rewards store | Nothing | Unlock a reward |
| Perk panels | Nothing | Unlock or lock a perk or a werewolf dormant ability, add or remove a fame quirk |
| Create a Sim, confirm button | Nothing | Randomise names, traits and aspirations for a quick test Sim |
That list is weerbesu's own, from the download post. Occult ranks, university grades, business perks and Batuu reputation are all covered too, and they appear only if you own the pack that adds them.
Where to get it
It comes from one place, free, from the person who wrote it. Every other site offering the zip is a re-upload.
Nothing about it is paywalled. weerbesu's own Patreon page says all of those mods are always available publicly, and the paid tiers buy support and voting perks rather than access. The full file list and install steps are on the ui cheats sims 4 download page.
Why the name gets typed so many ways
UI is short for user interface, and the mod's actual name is UI Cheats Extension. Because it is an abbreviation, people write it as u i cheats, ui cheats, uicheats and u.i cheats, and search engines treat those as different queries even though there is only one mod.
There is one genuine ambiguity: this site builds a separate mod called Sims4UICheats, which is not weerbesu's and is not released. The the uicheats page sets out which is which.
What it will not do
- No console version. The Sims 4 on PlayStation and Xbox does not load script mods, and this mod cannot work without its script file. weerbesu has never offered a console build.
- No undo and no confirmation. A mis-click is committed the moment you make it.
- No way to turn the left-clicks off. There is no settings file and no in-game toggle, so clicking the money counter always pays out 1,000 Simoleons.
- No skipping a game update. Each release is built against one game version and weerbesu states it will not work on older ones. See ui cheats sims 4 update for what to do on patch day.
What it does need is both of its files installed and script mods switched on, which is where most of the "it does not work" reports come from.
Common questions
Is "u i cheats" the same thing as "ui cheats"?
Yes. UI stands for user interface, and people type the name spaced out, joined up, or hyphenated. All of those searches land on one mod: UI Cheats Extension by weerbesu. There is a separate mod called Sims4UICheats built by this site, which is not released, so a search for the spaced-out name is almost certainly about weerbesu's mod.
Do I need testingcheats on for UI Cheats to work?
No. weerbesu dropped the testingcheats requirement in v1.1 on 30 June 2015, and from v1.9 in May 2017 the mod stopped needing it entirely, which is why its script file became mandatory instead of optional. You still need testingcheats for ordinary typed cheat commands; you do not need it to click a needs bar or the money counter.
Does UI Cheats need any expansion packs?
No. The Packs Needed field on the Mod The Sims listing reads "None, this is Sims 4 base game compatible!", which is the site's own wording for an empty pack list rather than a sentence weerbesu wrote. Individual cheats only show up where the matching content exists, so vampire ranks, university GPA and small business renown appear only if you own those packs. The base-game panels work on their own.
Can I undo a cheat I clicked by mistake?
No. There is no undo, no confirmation prompt and no settings file anywhere in weerbesu's documentation. Left-clicking the money counter always adds 1,000 Simoleons and left-clicking a needs bar always sets that need to where you clicked. It is a limitation of the mod, not a setting you have missed.
