Updating UI Cheats Extension after a Sims 4 patch

UI Cheats Extension is built against one Sims 4 build at a time, and weerbesu states a release will not work for older game versions, so update the mod at every patch. Check what is installed with ui_cheats.mod_version, delete the old .package and .ts4script, then add the new pair.

No command on this page is registered in the game's shipped Python, so no verified-build stamp is claimed. ui_cheats.mod_version ships in UI_Cheats_Extension.ts4script and is documented by weerbesu on Patreon post 26240068 (Wayback capture 20260608201638). Changelog dates and game-build pairings are weerbesu's own stamps, read from that capture and from uicheats.weerbesu.com; the v1.56 to v1.58 rows are secondary reporting and are labelled as such. Our local game extraction is pinned to build 1.126.73.1030.

Why a mod release is tied to a game build: the copies it installs came out of one specific version of the interface.

Almost every release of this mod is stamped with the game build it was made for, and that pairing is all compatibility comes down to. The exception is a bug-fix point release, which carries no game build of its own. The matrix below follows weerbesu's own changelog wherever we could read it, with the dates converted from the post's MM/DD/YYYY stamps and each row marked with how we know it.

The three newest rows are secondary reporting. Patreon returns an error to every automated fetch route open to us, and the newest usable archive capture of the post is v1.55, so anything above that line came from search results and third-party trackers rather than from weerbesu's page. The v1.58 date was given as both 6 and 7 August 2026, so no day is published here.

Releases before v1.40 are on weerbesu's own changelog site, which logs 62 numbered releases back to v1 on 30 June 2015. The mod is about eleven years old.

Which version do I have?

Right-click the notebook icon beside the phone icon in Live mode, or run the mod's own command in the cheat console:

ui_cheats.mod_version Reports the installed UI Cheats Extension version. Live mode only. Ships in the mod's .ts4script, not in the game.

Neither method needs testingcheats: the mod dropped that requirement in v1.1 on 30 June 2015. The game's own typed cheats are separate and still need testingcheats true entered in the session first, which is covered at sims cheats list. None of this applies on PlayStation or Xbox, where script mods do not load and the mod cannot run.

Updating, in order

  1. Update The Sims 4 fully first. The mod is built for the newest game build, not the one you are on.
  2. Delete the existing UI_Cheats_Extension.package and UI_Cheats_Extension.ts4script.
  3. Download the current zip from weerbesu's post and extract it.
  4. Put both new files back in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods, no more than one subfolder deep.
  5. Start the game and check the version with the command above.

Order matters at step 2. Two copies in the folder cause malfunction even when one of them is current, and the game does not pick the newer one for you. The folder rules are at how to get mods in.

What the versions mean right now

As of 6 August 2026 the live game was 1.126.78.1020 on PC, 1.126.78.1220 on Mac and 2.37 on console. Our own extraction of the game is pinned one build behind that, at 1.126.73.1030, and this page says so instead of implying we re-checked the mod against a build we never had.

For the patch you are actually on, the community broken-mods thread is the place to look before you launch: the EA forums list for patch 1.126, maintained by luthienrising, is the standard reference and a new thread appears for each patch.

The full feature map, limits and platform table are on the sims 4 ui cheats.

Common questions

How often does UI Cheats Extension update?

Six releases in 2024, six in 2025 and seven through August 2026, which tracks EA's patch cadence closely. The gaps are uneven: about three weeks between some releases and close to three months between others, plus two mid-cycle fix releases in 2024. Almost every release line is stamped with the game build it was made for, back to the first release in June 2015; the exception is a point release like v1.44.1, which carried only bug fixes. The three newest rows are secondary reporting.

How long after a game patch does the update arrive?

Usually days, though weerbesu commits to no schedule. The clearest matched pair: game patch 1.126 shipped on 21 July 2026, and v1.57, built for 1.126.58, is dated 25 July 2026. That mod date is third-party reporting rather than weerbesu's own post, which returns an error to every fetch route we have. Treat about a week as the honest expectation and never as a guarantee.

Do I have to delete the old version first?

Yes. Leaving an old .package or .ts4script behind is a documented cause of malfunction, and weerbesu's troubleshooting says to keep only one copy of the mod in the Mods folder. Delete both old files, then extract the new zip. Renaming the old files or moving them to a subfolder does not help, since the game still loads them.

Can I keep an old mod version and skip the game patch?

Only if you can stop the game updating, which is outside the mod's control. weerbesu supports one direction: the current build is made for the current game and will not work on older ones. There is no fallback mode and no in-mod check that disables the click layer when the versions do not match.

How do I tell whether a broken UI is this mod?

weerbesu is unambiguous: missing interface, graphical or textual glitches on panels, and frozen menus are always a mismatch between game version and mod version. Because the mod ships copies of the game's own interface files, a patch that changes those panels leaves you running the older copies, so the symptom is visual rather than a script error.
