Where to download UI Cheats Extension, and what to install

UI Cheats Extension downloads free from weerbesu's own Patreon post at patreon.com/posts/26240068, where paid tiers buy support rather than the file. The zip holds two files and both go into the Mods folder, no more than one subfolder deep, with Script Mods Allowed switched on.

No command on this page is registered in the game's shipped Python, so no verified-build stamp is claimed. Distribution, requirements and install text is weerbesu's own, read from Patreon post 26240068 (Wayback capture 20260608201638), the Patreon About page and modthesims.info/d/558548. ui_cheats.mod_version ships in UI_Cheats_Extension.ts4script, not in the game. The zip size is our own measurement of the v1.58 archive against installed game build 1.126.73.1030 (sims4uicheats/docs/COMPARISON.md).

Requirements

RequirementDetail
PlatformWindows or macOS. Console does not load script mods, so PlayStation and Xbox are out
Game versionThe patch the mod build was made for. weerbesu states a build will not work for older game versions
PacksNone. Base-game compatible per the Mod The Sims listing
Game optionsEnable Custom Content and Mods, plus Script Mods Allowed, under Other
Both filesPackage and script. One without the other is the most common failure
Other modsRemove other mods that override the same interface resources. Script and tuning mods are fine
testingcheatsNot needed. Dropped in v1.1 on 30 June 2015

Install steps

  1. Download the zip from weerbesu's post, above.
  2. Delete any older UI_Cheats_Extension.package and UI_Cheats_Extension.ts4script you already have. A leftover copy is a documented cause of malfunction.
  3. Extract the zip.
  4. Put both files into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods, no more than one subfolder deep.
  5. In Game Options, then Other, switch on Enable Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods Allowed.
  6. Restart the game. Restarting matters: the script mod setting is read at startup.
  7. Check the mods list. The package should appear under Custom Content and the script under Script Mods.

Folder depth and the Script Mods toggle account for nearly every install that fails, and are covered at how to get mods on the sims 4.

Confirming it installed

Right-click the notebook icon next to the phone icon in Live mode, or run the mod's own version command in the cheat console:

ui_cheats.mod_version Reports the installed UI Cheats Extension version. Live mode only. Ships in the mod's .ts4script, not in the game.

That command needs no testingcheats, because the mod stopped requiring it in v1.1 in 2015. The game's own typed cheats vary: 86 of the 633 a player can reach are declared Cheat and need testingcheats true first in the session, and the other 547 are Live and do not. On PlayStation and Xbox neither applies, since console never loads the script file this mod depends on.

If the version reports back, both layers are live. If cheat dialogs open but values do nothing, or the $1,000 left-click on the money counter is the only thing that works, the script file is not loading and the folder depth is the first thing to check.

Sites that are not the download

Copies of this mod circulate on aggregator sites including aqxaromods.com, simsfinds.com, sims4.cc and allgamemods.com, and a separate Patreon account has posted an old version of the mod in a post that is easy to mistake for weerbesu's own. None of them is weerbesu, and this page will not link them.

The practical argument is stronger than the ethical one. Those copies lag releases, and running a version built for an older patch is what produces missing panels and frozen menus. The EA Answers HQ broken-mods threads also exclude re-uploaded content from coverage, so a mirrored copy is a mod nobody is tracking for you.

For what the mod actually does once it is in, see the sims 4 ui cheats. For the cheats you type instead of click, see sims 4 cheats list.

Common questions

Is UI Cheats Extension free, or is Patreon a paywall?

Free. The download post itself is flagged as unpaid with no minimum pledge, and weerbesu's About page states that all mods are always available publicly. The tiers, starting at $2 a month, buy support and voting perks. Any site that charges for the zip, gates it behind a survey, or presents it as an exclusive is a re-upload rather than the source.

Which files do I actually need from the zip?

Both of them. UI_Cheats_Extension.package makes the game's panels clickable and UI_Cheats_Extension.ts4script carries the commands that apply your values. Installing only the package produces the classic half-install, where cheat dialogs open and nothing happens afterwards. Installing only the script does nothing, since there is no click handling without the package.

How big is the download?

About 14 MB zipped in the version we tore down, roughly 33.5 MB once decompressed, because the package carries whole copies of the game's interface files. Third-party trackers quote 13.5 MB, close enough to be the same archive. The figure moves with every release, so treat any published size as approximate rather than a checksum.

I found the mod on another site. Is that the same file?

Maybe, but there is no way to tell, and weerbesu does not publish it there. Re-uploads circulate on several mod aggregators and even on a second Patreon account that is not weerbesu's. They lag behind releases, they are not covered by the community broken-mods lists, and a stale copy of this mod is what breaks your interface after a patch.

Where do I download the Legacy Edition version?

From weerbesu's Mod The Sims listing, which the current Patreon post still links as the Legacy route. That build is v1.15.1, uploaded 20 November 2019 for game 1.58.63, and no newer Legacy build has been released. It is for 32-bit PC and non-Metal Mac only, and weerbesu's own note says not to install it on the normal version of the game.

Does it need any expansion packs?

No. The Mod The Sims listing records that no packs are needed and the mod is base-game compatible. Individual cheats only appear where the underlying content exists, so vampire ranks, university GPA and small business renown show up only for players who own those packs. Nothing breaks when a pack is missing; the panel is not there.
